My path to becoming a therapist began long before formal training. One of my teenage diary entries reminded me of the early spark—a passion for mental health and a deep desire to help others—that’s guided my journey ever since.
After earning a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Houston–Downtown in 2009, I worked as a case manager at a local clinic, where collaboration with a diverse team inspired me to pursue clinical social work. I completed my MSW at the University of Houston Graduate College of Social Work (GO COOGS!) in 2013 and began my clinical career as a therapist at the same outpatient clinic where I interned, supporting adults through individual and group therapy.
In 2024, after more than a decade in the field, I founded Hopestone Counseling, PLLC—a client-centered practice rooted in growth, healing, and empowerment.
I acknowledge that initiating therapy can be a challenging process. My practice is grounded in a client-centered, integrative framework that prioritizes individualized care. I utilize evidence-based modalities—including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and strength-based interventions—to address emotional regulation, resilience, and the cultivation of self-compassion. Central to my approach is the therapeutic alliance, which research consistently identifies as a primary factor in positive outcomes. This relationship is built upon trust, transparency, and mutual respect. Whether presenting concerns involve anxiety, depression, or a desire for increased clarity and insight, my role is to provide structured, supportive, and goal-oriented care.
